2026 Emerald City Gala

On Friday, August 14, 2026, The Heritage Club welcomed more than 200 guests to the Emerald City Gala, an enchanting evening inspired by the timeless magic of The Wizard of Oz. Community members, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters gathered for a night of celebration, entertainment, and generosity, all in support of local seniors.

The evening featured the return of the popular dueling pianos by Shake Rattle & Roll Pianos, creating a lively and interactive atmosphere that kept guests entertained throughout the night. Guests also enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by SRG Catering, cash bars provided by Quivering Liver, and exciting silent and live auctions. Longtime supporter Tom West once again energized the crowd as live auctioneer, helping raise vital funds for the programs and services offered by The Heritage Club and STAR Transportation.

A special highlight of the evening was an inspiring presentation by Heritage Club member Judy Graham and her daughter, Cheri Nofziger. Together, they shared Judy's personal journey since moving to Steuben County and spoke about the friendships, activities, support, and sense of belonging she has found through The Heritage Club. Their heartfelt testimony was a powerful reminder of the impact these programs have on the lives of local seniors every day.

Board Treasurer Fred Beck also addressed guests, emphasizing the organization's commitment to transparency and accountability. He shared information about the many financial safeguards, oversight measures, and internal controls in place, and reminded attendees that although not required, the Steuben County Council on Aging voluntarily undergoes an independent financial audit each year. He reassured guests that the organization has consistently maintained strong financial practices and has never had any audit findings or concerns.

The evening would not have been complete without the generosity of April Hoff, who donated her professional photography services to capture the memories and special moments of the event. Her gift helped preserve a beautiful record of an unforgettable evening.



Most importantly, the Emerald City Gala was a celebration of community. Every sponsorship, auction bid, donation, volunteer hour, and ticket purchased helped strengthen programs that enrich the lives of older adults throughout Steuben County. Together, our supporters demonstrated that when a community comes together with compassion and purpose, there truly is no place like home.
