We believe that mobility is essential to quality of life. Whether it’s a trip to work, school, a medical appointment, or a visit with friends, STAR helps make it possible.
Who We Serve
- STAR is open to everyone, regardless of age or income. We proudly serve:
- Older adults
- Individuals with disabilities
- Students
- Workers
- Families and caregivers
- Veterans – We proudly partner with the local American Legion to offer scholarship rides for veterans traveling to VA hospitals. These rides are available for just $20 per trip, helping ensure our veterans receive the care they deserve.
- Our service is inclusive, respectful, and community-focused.
Our Values
- Accessibility: All vehicles are wheelchair accessible, and we offer door-to-door assistance.
- Affordability: Seniors 60+ ride within Steuben County on a donation basis.
- Reliability: We operate Monday through Friday, 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Equity: STAR complies with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act and provides services without discrimination.
How We’re Funded
STAR is made possible through a blend of public and private support, including:
- Steuben County Government
- City of Angola
- Township Trustees
- Steuben County Community Foundation
- INDOT 5311 & 5310 grants
- AIHS Title IIIB funds (Older Americans Act)
- Rider fares, fundraising, and charitable donations
