The Steuben County Council on Aging's STAR transportation recently received a new small transit vehicle that seats 8 passengers and is equipped with a power lift, for transporting those passengers who need extra assistance.
This purchase was made possible through the United Way providing a grant to meet the 20% required local matching funding.
STAR transported over 1,900 passengers and traveled over 174,000 miles last year. This grant makes it possible for everyone in Steuben county to have access to public, low-cost, wheelchair and accessible transportation.
Many thanks for the community support to provide these much needed services.
